Traditionally, summer is supposed to be the “slow” time in publishing (I still remember fleeing my office into the sweltering NYC streets at noon on summer Fridays) — but this summer finds us as busy as ever … not to mention our Ashland Creek Press authors. So I thought I’d offer a little update on what everyone’s been up to in the Ashland Creek Press world …
Author Cher Fischer (Falling Into Green) moderated a panel on ecopsychology for Ford Motor Company in June, joined by environmental leaders from Detroit to Hollywood. In the photo below: John Viera of Ford; Tim Sexton, co-founder of the environmental organization E2; author and ecopsychologist Cher Fischer; actor (Entourage) and producer Adrien Grenier and producer Peter Glatzer (both of SHFT); and Liz Heller of TOMS.

John Colman Wood has received new rave reviews from The Lit Pub, The Los Angeles Review, and BookBrowse for his novel The Names of Things.
Mindy Mejia talks about her novel THE DRAGON KEEPER (coming in September) in this article in Rosemount Town Pages.
JoeAnn Hart, author of the novels Addled and FLOAT (forthcoming in February 2013), published an article in Culinate.
Jean Ryan (SURVIVAL SKILLS, forthcoming in April 2013) has published several short stories this summer: “Waiting for Annie” in Blue Lake Review, “Migration” in The Drum (a beautiful audio recording), and “Chasing Zero” in Four Ties Lit Review.
John Yunker received an IndieReader Discovery Award for his novel The Tourist Trail, just featured in USA TODAY.
And, finally, our amazing former intern Melody Condon (who earlier this year was named Dankook Outstanding Undergraduate Woman of the Year) has graduated from Southern Oregon University and launched her own editorial business, Melody Editing. As big fans of Melody both personally and professionally, we couldn’t be happier — and we are happier still to be among her satisfied clients.
Congrats to all!
